Thanksgiving Cornbread Dressing Recipe

This is a traditional Thanksgiving Cornbread Dressing Recipe.

Ingredients: 

  • 1/2 Cup Bell Pepper
  • 1/2 Cup Onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. Celery
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 6 Cups Cornbread, crumbled
  • 4 Cups White Bread, crumbled
  • 1 tsp. Poultry Seasoning
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Sage
  • 1/2 tsp. Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. Thyme
  • 2 to 2 1/2 cups Chicken or Turkey Broth
Direction:

  1. Sautee the bell pepper, onion, and celery in butter while setting up the rest of the ingredients.  Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, pouring on the broth and add cooked meat pieces that have been boiled.
  2. Either, stuff the mixture into the turkey or place it in a greased roster pan, to bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes.
